Common fixes, and how to reach us for anything else.

The app can't find my panel

Add it by address instead. Open the panel's own page at gameday-xxxxxx.local (the name it shows on screen), or the numeric address underneath if your phone can't resolve .local names, and enter that in the app.

The panel won't join my Wi-Fi

The panel only joins 2.4 GHz networks. If your router has separate names for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, pick the 2.4 GHz one, and check the password. Use your main network: a guest network can let the panel join but keep your phone from reaching it.

I don't have an iPhone

You can set the panel up from any phone or laptop through its own hotspot. While the panel shows SETUP, join the Wi-Fi network it names, like Game Day 2f6a70, and a setup page opens. Pick your Wi-Fi network, enter the password and save.

Once it's on your Wi-Fi, the panel shows its address. Open that in a browser to pick your team and everything else the app would set.

More on the hotspot in Setup.

Half the board is blank, or the picture shows twice

The panel layout doesn't match your panel. Open the panel's page, find Setup and click the picture that matches yours: One 128x64 panel for the panel we ship (or two 64x64 panels side by side), One 64x64 panel for a single small one. The panel restarts with the new layout.

Lines on the panel, or the wrong colors

Unplug the panel for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Reboot from the app or the page doesn't cut the power, so it won't clear this. If the lines or the colors come back, email support.

I need to reset Wi-Fi

Hold the controller's boot button for 10 seconds. The screen warns you first, with 5 seconds to let go if you didn't mean to. Once it resets, the panel forgets its network and restarts into setup mode; your team, favorites and other settings stay as they were.

A shorter hold (about 1.5 seconds) just shows the panel's address again, without resetting anything.

Start over from scratch

Factory reset on the panel's page erases everything: Wi-Fi, team, favorites and settings. The panel restarts into setup the way it came out of the box.

My team's season is over

Between seasons the panel shows your team's next game once the schedule is out, which can be months away, or No upcoming game until then. Nothing is wrong with it; it picks the next season up on its own.

To keep the board busy, open the panel's page and switch to Favorite teams with teams from leagues that are in season, or to Live games for whatever is on right now.

Can I use it outside?

The panel is made for indoor use. Keep it, its controller and its power adapter out of rain and damp. On a covered patio, put it somewhere out of the wind: it's light, and a gust can knock it over.

Updating the firmware

The panel checks for updates every six hours on its own. Turn on Install updates automatically on the panel's page and it installs a new release between 3 and 5 AM, never during a game it is following. Otherwise open its page and use Check for updates; an Install button appears when a newer version is out and the update runs over Wi-Fi.

The panel won't start

If it stays dark or keeps restarting, reinstall the firmware from the installer page, with a USB cable and a desktop browser such as Chrome or Edge. That erases its settings, so set it up again afterwards.
